Following lots of rumours online and in the blogosphere – Skype have released their iPhone client for download from the Apple App Store. The application allows you to make VOIP calls on Wi-Fi as well as Skype Chat with your friends.
Citrix have just released an ICA Client for the Apple iPhone.
The application called Citrix Receiver allows you to access any of the Citrix published applications from your iPhone, this will give you access to any Windows application or document directly on your iPhone.
There is a Poll currently running on LinkedIn which is asking – what will be the most widely adopted device in Enterprise this year. Whilst the poll size isn’t huge it does show some interesting results particularly if you profile the results by Company Size, Job Function and even Age!

Vodafone have just launched the ability for UK customers to Tweet via a mobile short code 86444.
The SMS updates posted on Twitter will be free of charge for the first few weeks from launch – then they will be part of customers’ bundles. After the free period regular charges will apply to customers without bundles but all text message updates sent from Twitter will remain free of charge.
Gaming on the iPhone seems to be going crazy right now with some amazing games hitting the iPhone platform.
One of the classic games of all time has just appeared on the App Store and that’s the legendary Wolfenstein 3D game. The game from id Software was one of the earliest first person shooter games that are now so popular across all gaming platforms.
National Rail have launched a fantastic iPhone application which delivers real time information on your iPhone and iPod Touch.
You can save regular journeys for quick lookup and there is even a ‘Next Train Home’ feature which will provide the next train to your home station based on your current location.

There is a new version of Mail for Exchange, Nokia’s Exchange ActiveSync implementation enabling push synchronization between Nokia devices and Microsoft Exchange.
The new version includes a number of features such as support for Access Point Groups / Destinations for automatic switching between WiFi and GPRS, much improved battery life, synchronization of pictures, a number of bug fixes as well as support for new devices Nokia E63, Nokia N97 etc.
If you are using a Series 60 or Windows Mobile device and have been having YouTube envy watching iPhone and Android users happily watching YouTube videos then you are in luck.
YouTube have just realised a new client for both device types. (a list of supported Nokia S60 devices is available here).
At the CamSecWest conference in Vancouver there was a 3 day Pwn2Own smartphone hacking contest with $10,000 prizes and free mobile phones at stock.
The sponsored contest involved some of the best hackers and computer security experts against the 5 main Smartphone platforms – Nokia (with Symbian), Windows Mobile, Google Android, RIM with Blackberry and Apple iPhone.
Each day the rules were relaxed however the phones managed to withstand the attempts that were made to ‘pwn’ them. (Gain Ownership/Take Over)
