I’ve been exchanging email with the folks at SlingMedia for a while about why there isn’t a Slingplayer Mobile Client available in the UK….

Strangely the US Version works perfectly (as long as you can convince a US Colleague to buy it for you)

Well great news!  They’ve released a version of their client for the UK for Windows Mobile!

If you haven’t seen it before – SlingPlayer takes any output and rebroadcasts it via the Internet to your PC or Device!

Want a way of syncing notes to your windows Mobile device

One of the questions I often get is a method of synchronising the Notes inside Exchange.  I personally don’t use Notes as I use OneNote Mobile 2007 but it seems many people do.  (Plus OneNote Mobile doesn’t support sync over the air)

Adam contacted me about his application he’s written for piggybacking off Exchange Tasks sync and providing a Notepad application on the device.  So whilst it doesn’t really fix the problem.. it’s a neat workaround.

He’s providing the solution free for people to use if they wish…

Mobile Internet usage – do you browse the web from your device?

April 26th, 2007

I recently found this interesting press release from M:Metrics which outlines Internet Web usage from Mobile devices.

What’s really interesting is that it highlights some really key differences between Web Browsing usage in the US and UK.

In both countries Google is the most browsed web site.  However in the UK it’s the Mobile Operator sites that rank highest whilst in the US it’s portals such as yahoo, msn and live that are most browsed.

The cynic in me thinks most of this could be down to the Operators hard coding the homepage to their site and T-Mobile use the Google.co.uk site as default but I thought it interesting all the same.

The other piece that shocked me was that the US was higher than the UK in Mobile browsing…  the other question is why the spike on a Tuesday in the UK???
